Terms of Usage & Cell Phone Privacy

Students Adventures has created a Trip Communication system that delivers up-to-date information regarding all of our trips.  We will use (SMS) Text Messages, Emails, and Push Notifications to deliver important information regarding the trip.  This includes contacting the Trip Leader during the planning process, and to all the adult chaperones on the trip.  

Only Student Adventures or the Trip Leader from your school district will have access to this system and will be the only people sending messages.

Pre-Trip Communication:

ADULTS ONLY – Any adult responsible for the student registered for the trip may receive information regarding the trip.  Even if the adult is not traveling with the group, he/she may receive information about pre-trip planning process such as notification of parent meetings, payment reminders, announcements about departure & return times, and other messages regarding the planning process.

On-Trip Communication:

ADULTS AND STUDENTS TRAVELING WITH SCHOOL This allows teachers, chaperones, and students to receive up-to-date information as events unfold throughout the trip.   These messages may include any important announcements, changes in itinerary, and wake up times.

In the event there are Elevated Awareness, our Crisis Management Team uses our On-Trip Communication system to resolve any issues that may arise.  We are constantly monitoring world events and taking into account the recommendations from the US Department of Homeland Security to ensure the safety of all our tour participants.

Privacy:
Student Adventures respects the privacy of every student and will only send messages during the trip. After the trip returns, your child will not receive ANY communication from Student Adventures. We will not otherwise collect, use, or disclose your child’s personal information other than stated within this notice.
On-line contact information will not be used for any other purpose than previously described. You may decline the option to allow your child to participate in our service by selecting not to receive text messages or push notification inside your Student Adventures online account. We will retain your child’s information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.

Text Message Communications:
When you provide us your phone number and cell carrier, the Trip Leader, Student Adventures Tour Guide and/or Student Adventures on-tour partners will send you text messages (including important announcements, changes in itinerary, wake up times, and any Elevated Awareness Alerts) relating to your school’s trip. By maintaining a Student Adventure account and opting to enroll in our Trip Communication system, you acknowledge and agree that you may receive e-mail or text messages on your phone or mobile communications device from Student Adventures. The receipt of such messages may cause you to incur usage charges or other fees or costs in accordance with your wireless or data service plan. Any and all such charges, fees, or costs are your sole responsibility. You should consult with your wireless carrier to determine what rates, charges, fees, or costs may apply. We only send these types of communications to underage users upon providing authorization from the parent.

Push Notifications:
When you download the Student Adventures App, we will send Push Notification messages related to your school’s trip.  When your school’s Trip Leader or Student Adventures Tour Guide has posted something new for your trip, you will receive a Push Notification. If you no longer wish to receive such communications, you may turn them off at the device level. If you are a parent of an underage user, you always have the choice to no longer allow your child to receive Push Notifications.
